Peran Guru dalam Meningkatkan Literasi Membaca Siswa Kelas V Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of teachers in improving reading literacy among fifth-grade students at SDN 3 Mojoagung Prambon through leveled reading books. A quantitative one-group pretest–posttest design was employed involving 25 students. Reading literacy tests were administered before and after the treatment. The treatment involved teacher-guided reading activities using leveled books tailored to students’ abilities. Results showed an improvement in students’ reading literacy, with the mean score increasing from 62.4 to 78.6. Paired sample t-test results indicated a significant difference. These findings confirm the crucial role of teachers in enhancing elementary students’ reading literacy.
